Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common ones.
When am I entitled to compensation?
EC261 may apply to an arrival delay of at least three hours, a qualifying cancellation or involuntary denied boarding. The route, carrier, cause and rerouting determine the final outcome.
How much compensation will I get?
The fixed EC261 bands are €250, €400 or €600 per passenger. Distance, route and disruption facts determine the amount.
What do you charge?
One transparent all-in success fee of 25% of the actual airline payout. There is no upfront cost and no payout means you pay €0.
Why do I save a payment method in advance?
The Stripe payment mandate prevents invoice friction after success. Nothing is charged upfront and the 25% success fee may be collected only after you confirm the actual payout.
How long does it take?
This varies by airline and country. Your dashboard shows every step; if no response arrives, we send a reminder and review the competent national enforcement or ADR route.
How do you know the airline really paid?
The airline pays directly to your IBAN. Only you confirm in the dashboard when the money has actually arrived; an airline award alone does not activate the success fee.
Can I withdraw my claim?
As a consumer, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. The precise consequences depend on your request to start immediately and how much of the service has already been performed.
How far back can I claim?
The limitation period varies by country. We show a definitive deadline only after the applicable national policy version has been reviewed internally.
What is an EC261 claim?
An EC261 claim is a request for fixed flight compensation under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 after a qualifying delay, cancellation or denied boarding.
Can I claim EC261 compensation myself?
Yes. You can claim directly from the airline. FlightMoneyBack is an optional no-cure-no-pay service for people who want to outsource assessment, correspondence and follow-up.
What if the airline refuses?
We review the reason and, when the country policy has been approved internally, the competent national enforcement or ADR route. Court proceedings are outside our service in year one.
Will my data be deleted?
You can request deletion. We must retain some claim, consent and payment data for applicable statutory periods; the privacy notice explains this.
